• Community Health will offer Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at all locations, including Community North at 7979 N. Shadeland, Community East at 1500 Ritter Ave., and Community South at 1402 E. County Line Rd. They will accept prescriptions, over-the-counter pills, liquid medications, and pet medication for proper disposal.
• The Indianapolis Arts Council has opened applications for their Streetcorner Canvases program, for neighborhoods that would like to get funding for artists to paint traffic signal boxes in their communities. • On Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 5:30-7:00, there will be an Oktoberfest at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 6810 E. 10th St. There will be traditional German food for sale. The event will raise funds for the Eagle Project to construct a ball pit at the church.
• True crime author Carol Sissom will host a Classic Car Truck and Bike Show on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Don Juan Taquria, 3915 Madison Ave. with a 10 a.m. roll in, and an 11 a.m. $20 registration inside. • Mark your calendar for Sunday, Nov. 17 from noon-3 p.m. when Indy Neighborhood Cats will host a community cat winter shelter pickup at FIDO headquarters, 1505 N. Sherman. They will have bagged straw for existing shelters ($2), and shelters for community cats outside in the winter. • Indiana Landmarks is offering a lecture on Italianate and Second Empire architecture by Dr. James Glass on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Indiana Landmarks Center, 1201 Central Ave. There will also be a book launch and signing of Architecture in Indianapolis, 1820-1900 by Dr. Glass. • Eiteljorg Museum will have a Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Admission to the museum will be free, with lots of activities, performances, and artmaking. • Irvington will hold its Second Annual Day of the Dead celebration on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 5:00-9:30 p.m. at Hazeables, 5545 E. Washington St. There will be lots of activities for the whole family.
• Growing Places and the John Boner Neighborhood Center is looking for a manager for their farm and rented garden beds. Proposals are being accepted at the Boner Fitness Center, 727 N.
