Eastside Non-Profits Receive Gift from Local Plumbing Trade School

INDIANAPOLIS — On Tuesday, May 28, representatives from Mechanical Skills, Inc., a local not-for-profit plumbing apprenticeship program, joined representatives from Shepherd Community Center and Neighborhood Fellowship, two east side non-profits, for the presentation of two $10,000 checks on behalf of Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Detective Chad A. Dailey.
Detective Dailey was also present for the event, which honored his exemplary work in going above and beyond the call of duty. Because he is a public servant and unable to accept gifts, Detective Dailey suggested that the plumbing school donate whatever amount they saw fit to two local charities, splitting it between Shepherd Community Center and Neighborhood Fellowship.
“We are grateful to Detective Dailey for his exemplary work and for his dedication to the local community,” said Mechanical Skills, Inc. Board Member Justin Dorsey of Justin Dorsey Plumbing. “Not only does Detective Dailey help our community, but he selflessly directed us to help two very worthy organizations who go above and beyond every day to meet their community’s needs. This is an auspicious day and one that warms the hearts of all involved.”
