INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) and Indy Neighborhood Cats (INC) are partnering to help working cats find homes.
Between the two organizations, over 70 working cats are currently looking for homes. Working cats prefer being outdoors and maintaining their independence but benefit from an owner that can look after their needs. While some working cats are friendly, many are under-socialized. Working cats make great mousers for barns, warehouses, and other businesses and their presence alone can be a deterrent. Those who adopt a working cat are responsible for providing shelter, food, water, and medical care. Adopters also need to adhere to an acclimation process so that the cat can adapt to its new environment.
Each cat available through this program is fixed, up to date on vaccinations, flea treatment and basic medical exams. Those interested in adopting a working cat can apply online at https://loom.ly/eNjfRtY
