INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Urban Acres, an initiative of The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis, donates and distributes 100% of its produce to community partners that serve households and individuals who experience food insecurity. They have announced a Plant Presale to gardeners who would like too get a jump start on this year’s garden.
Since 2011, Indy Urban Acres has grown from a single site, harvesting 15,000 pounds of produce, to multiple sites harvesting 60,000+ pounds of produce each year. The Plant Sale supports this work.
To participate, visit www.iuaplantsale.com, then:
1. Select the number of trays you want to purchase (18 plants per tray).
2. Select your plants! Any 18 plants per tray.
3. Double check your order, then check out!
The plants are listed at $0, so you must select a $90 tray to validate your order. If you select a few too many, we will make cuts on our own. If you select too few, we will make mystery additions.
Why do we do online orders this way? We have limited space in our greenhouse to store and organize preorders. Orders in quantities of 18 or 1 full tray, allow us to make the most of our space.
Plants include vegetables, Indiana native flowers, and herbs.
