INDIANAPOLIS — The Walker Career Center Health Sciences program has come full circle with Hill-Rom. Hill-Rom, located in Batesville, Indiana and a leading manufacturer of hospital equipment recently delivered 4 updated hospital beds to the program. This will allow students to train on the same equipment currently being used in hospitals and long term care facilities. Kevin McDonnell of Hill-Rom coordinated the donation and delivery of the beds. Bill Green joined Kevin and trained the teacher and students on how to use the beds.
The class followed up with Hill-Rom by touring the Hill-Rom facilities in Batesville, Students were able to see firsthand how the equipment is made and the proper use.
Patti Schwalm, teacher for the Advanced Health Sciences program said, “It is these types of partnerships that improve the way we train our students. Using the Hill-Rom beds will acquaint students with the beds they will see at the sites where they will complete their clinicals and in their future employment. We are very grateful to Hill-Rom for their generosity and support of our students.”
