INDIANAPOLIS — The Marion County Public Health Department is joining community partners to offer vaccines and other public health services during a special National Day of Vaccines event called MCPHD Prioritizing You on Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the health department’s main location, 3838 N. Rural St.
The event is also part of a Nationwide Vaccination Day on April 22 in cities across the United States organized by the Stay Well Community Health Initiative. Indianapolis is one of 21 cities that will participate in this effort.
Free immunizations and services to be offered at the event hosted by the health department include:
• Vaccines for children
• COVID-19 and flu shots for adults
• Sports physicals
• Dental health exams
• Lead screenings
• Blood pressure screenings
• Birth and death certificates
Light of the World Christian Church will give a cash incentive to those who receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the event.
Other activities are planned, such as food demonstrations, Indianapolis Fire Dept. trucks, and an electronics disposal program by Technology Recyclers
