INDIANAPOLIS- Two new chaplains were recently sworn into the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), Chaplain Keegan Allen and Chaplain Jose Rivas.
Chaplain Allen is an Associate Minister at Eden Missionary Baptist Church. He Is the proud father of Kinslee Allen. Currently Chaplain Allen is enrolled at Vincennes University studying American Sign Language interpretation. Chaplain Allen has worked for MCCO transport department and is currently working for Sprowl Funeral and Cremation Care.
Chaplain Rivas was born in Honduras. He moved to the United States in 2004 and has lived in Indianapolis since 2007. Chaplain Rivas is a graduate of Southport High School and he has been in worship ministry since the age of 10. Chaplain Rivas served as the Worship Pastor for Iglesia Indy Tabernaculo, yet currently he has been called to help churches and their worship teams develop best practices for worship.
The IMPD Chaplains office assists not only the officers but are essential in offering support and comfort to the Indianapolis community during devastating moments.
