• Buck Creek Players will present It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play from Dec. 10-19. The beloved holiday classic comes to life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. Tickets are available online at buckcreekplayers.com
• Congratulations to Englewood Community Development and the John Boner Neighborhood Centers for the recent grant to stabilize the 100-year-old chimney on the PR Mallory smokestack.
• The Indiana Dept. of Transportation has announced that I-465 improvements on the northeast side will begin in spring of 2022. The Clear Path 465 project will improve safety and traffic where 465 and I-69 meet. Work is expected to begin in 2022 on the first segment between the White River and Allisonville and Fall Creek. INDOT has launched a new Web site, ClearPath465.com to keep the public informed of progress on the project.
• City Market will be hosting a Jingle and Mingle event on Wednesday, Dec. 8 from noon-6 p.m. for residents to rediscover what the market has to offer. Look for the works of local artists and live music performances throughout the afternoon.
• The Daughters of the American Revolution are promoting their Military Banner Program honoring those who served during the Vietnam Conflict. Banners will be displayed on Main Street in Beech Grove with the name, rank, years of service, and photo of a Beech Grove veteran who served. While Vietnam veterans are the focus, any service member can be honored with a banner. Cost is $125. Visit samuelbryantchapter.com for more information about the banner project.
• COVID-19 booster shots for those who have had their last vaccinations at least six months ago are available. Everyone over the age of 18 is eligible for the booster of either Pfizer or Moderna. Check with your primary care provider for their recommendation. In addition, all children between 5-11 are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, and clinics are popping up all over the city to ensure kids can get their shots. Call 211 to register for an appointment for yourself or your children.
• Conner Prairie has extended its Access Pass Program, which allows families who receive SNAP benefits and other state assistance to visit for only $2 per person. Currently, Conner Prairie is hosting the Merry Prairie Holiday, which is also more accessible for guests who are deaf or hearing impaired by providing an American Sign Language interpreter on tours.
