INDIANAPOLIS — Citizens Energy has announced that it has made significant progress on the DigIndy Pleasant Run Tunnel construction currently underway at Ritter and Pleasant Run. However, due to weather delays in September, the re-opening of Ritter Ave. will be postponed to Oct. 22.
Current detours around the site have created traffic issues on surrounding streets, including residential streets used by some to bypass congestion. Additional traffic countrol measures have been put into place, especially during rush hours, to ease congestion.
Additional sewer rehabilitation along East Pleasant Run S. Dr. will begin as soon as the Parkway at Ritter re-opens.
The DigIndy Pleasant Run Tunnel is part of a larger project that will prevent combined sewer overflows into public waterways. The overall project is expected to be completed in 2025.
