Little Flower Summerfest Kicks Off the Festival Season

Summerfest 2021 will be held on Friday, June 4; Saturday, June 5; and Sunday, June 6. Hours are 5-11 p.m. on Friday, 3-11 p.m. on Saturday, and 11:00 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. Summerfest is held at Little Flower Catholic Church, on the corner of North Bosart and Nowland Ave.
The year’s theme is “Homecoming,” which is appropriate after a year of difficult distancing from friends and the church. With that in mind, Summerfest will be a celebration of coming together.
Little Flower Church’s Summer Festival has food, fun and entertainment for all. The festival features a raffle with a $4,000 grand prize! Poor Jack Amusements will be on the midway. There is also a huge silent auction that runs all three days. This year, the silent auction features a new virtual bidding platform so that any person at any location can place bids and win items! Register to bid at https://lfway.cbo.io. The Stained Glass Raffle returns this year, with three beautiful pieces to be won.
There will be a large variety of food offerings. On Saturday night an indoor dinner from 5-7:30 p.m. will feature a delicious home cooked meal from the Steer-In. On Sunday, an indoor brunch will be available from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Available all weekend outside will be all of those festival favorites we’ve been yearning for: burgers, fries, tenderloins, hot dogs, brats, Italian sausage, nachos and walking tacos, corn on the cob, pizza, elephant ears, spiral potatoes, strawberries, and ice cream. Bud and Bud Light will be served from the beer wagon, along with craft beer from Sun King Brewing. Wine will also be available, with a Sunday special of bloody marys and mimosas.
Bingo will take place on Friday and Saturday evenings. Monte Carlo games for adults will also be available on Friday and Saturday evenings. There will be live entertainment from various bands all weekend. Sunday will include special attractions for families, including a live animal show from Silly Safaris at noon.
Further information is available at www.littleflowerparish.org.  A $10 wristband purchase will be required for entry, but $10 in spendable coupons will be provided in return. Minors must be accompanied by parent or guardian. Please see the Website for information on daily hours, admission requirements, and details on the live entertainment schedule.
Little Flower Church was officially formed in 1925, and has been a mainstay of the Eastside community ever since. In May 2010, Little Flower, Our Lady of Lourdes, and Holy Spirit elementary schools joined Scecina Memorial High School to form the East Side Catholic School Partnership.
