INDIANAPOLIS — In accordance with the Marion County Covid restrictions, the Circle City Industrial Complex Artists (CCIC Artists) will host a Virtual First Friday on the “Circle City Industrial Complex Artists” Facebook page (@ccicartists) and mirrored on the Circle City Industrial Complex’s main Facebook page (@circlecityind) as part of the March First Friday art tour, on Friday, March 5, from 6-9 p.m. There will be no indoor, in-person First Friday for March. The CCIC is located at 1125 E. Brookside Ave.
For March Madness, the gallery space will showcase the work of Nicholas Conlon, a multi-disciplinary artist from Chicago. His show, “Broken Rims and Dirty Dreams,” focuses on basketball as an art form. Conlon will have a presentation during the Virtual First Friday programming as well.
The Indy Winter Farmers Market will continue to open during its Saturday hours, under its own guidelines, and several artists and galleries will remain open for their regular ‘retail’ hours, usually on weekends, and posted on their own websites and social media. Some studios will also be open by appointment.
The Harrison Center for the Arts will virtually host First Friday with several shows, including “A Will and Away” by Alicia Zanoni, Amy Applegate with “odds and ends” in the Gallery Annex, “Renew,” by Jessica Green featuring new oil paintings of iconic downtown Indianapolis locations, Kaila Austin will present “Saints & Icons,” H Ward Miles with “Microparticles,” and “Our Shot” group show celebrating our shared love of basketball during March Madness. All can be viewed online at harrisoncenter.org/buy-art from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, March 5.
