INDIANAPOLIS — As Covid-19 worsens throughout Indiana, The Indianapolis Public Library has decided to adjust services for the safety of staff and patrons.
Beginning Monday, December 21, IndyPL will only be open for the following in-person services:
• Curbside pickup of materials (books, DVDs, etc.)
• Computer use (first come, first served; one-hour time limit)
Curbside pickup will be available at all IndyPL locations during all open hours. Patrons can access the catalog online at indypl.org to place a hold online or call their nearest branch for assistance with selecting and placing a hold on an item (library card required). Patrons will be notified when their hold is available for checkout, and then can easily schedule a pickup online or over the phone. Book drops will remain open at all Library locations for returning materials.
Computers will be available on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis. There will be a one hour time limit for computer activity. Printing, photocopying, scanner use and faxing can be done during this time slot. Additionally, Wi-Fi is accessible in many Library parking lots.
During this time of limited in-person service, please also continue to:
• Use e-books and streaming media through the website
• Learn about services, programs, and timely content for all ages on the blog
• Get help with things like e-learning, small business support, and career services through the ask-a-librarian service (phone, email, or text message)
• Attend one of the many online programs for children, teens, and adults
