Colts Pound Raiders

The Indianapolis Colts greatly improved their playoff chances with the 44-27 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The offense dominated with rookie running back Jonathan Taylor and veteran wideout TY Hilton leading the way. Quarterback Philip Rivers continues to put together one of his finest and most productive seasons and the offensive line is now both run and pass blocking well.
Jonathan Taylor ran for 150 yards on 20 carries including a 62 yard touchdown run in the second quarter. He now has 759  yards  on 168 carries for a 4.5 yards per carry average and 6 rushing touchdowns. Add 31 receptions for 286 yards and a touchdown and you can see that he has become an integral part of the Horseshoe offense. As for Hilton, the nine year vet has caught fire at just the right time, catching touchdowns in three straight games including two against the Raiders. The whole Colts offense was so effective against the Raiders that Raider defensive coordinator Paul Guenther was fired after the game was over.
As to the defense, it has been their custom to come on in the second half and Sunday was no exception. Kenny Moore II was a man on fire. The nickelback was a nightmare for Derek Carr making plays all over the field including a fantastic one that  handed an interception in the end zone that was nothing short of amazing. Moore deserves to be in the Pro Bowl for sure. Khari Willis grabbed a pick-six in the fourth quarter to seal the deal. This gives the Colts defense 4 pick-sixes for the season.
Rookie placekicker Rodrigo Blankenship set a record for Colt rookie placekickers. He now has scored 125 total points on field goals and extra points.
There are three games left in the regular season. The Texans, the Steelers, and the Jaguars. Two are AFC South games. The Colts host the Texans at Lucas Oil this coming Sunday.
