INDIANAPOLIS — On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the newly renovated splash pad at Windsor Village Park opened. Located at 6510 E. 25th St., the neighborhood can enjoy the new colorful spray features, walkways, and a lime green shade structure.
This year, Indy Parks’ 19 splash pads will be open through September 30. Windsor Village Park, Arsenal Park (which also unveiled its new splash pad this season), and Tarkington Park are unique as their chlorinated recirculating water systems maintain constant water pressure to run the spray features simultaneously.
Windsor Village Park is known for being a second home to park visitors, providing free meals, art and after school programs, annual toy collection/distribution, summer day camp, and fitness and dance-inspired activities.
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, park staff organized a free drive-through pantry to help families secure food and household supplies. From March-May, Windsor Village Park and its generous partners put together boxes full of bread, cereal, pasta, sauces, soup, potatoes, and other food staples, serving more than 5,300 park visitors. This park also offers free meals to youth on Monday-Friday from 5 p.m.-6 p.m., and free meals are available at other park locations throughout the city.
