INDIANAPOLIS — Vintage Movie Night is a monthly series that features film historian and preservationist Eric Grayson as he presents a series of unique and rare vintage film titles. Due to COVID-19, Vintage Movie Night will now take place outside the Garfield Park Arts Center, in the south end of the parking lot, facing the Corporate Shelter. Vintage Movie Night will resume with a showing of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad on August 22 at 9 p.m.
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1957) to be shown is a rare technicolor print with newly upgraded and features actors Kerwin Matthews and Kathryn Grant. The legendary sailor Sinbad encounters an evil magician who shrinks a princess and will not remove the curse until Sinbad returns to the magician’s native land. There, they battle a cyclops, a two-headed bird, and a whole host of other beasts.
The movie will start when it is dark, and guests can arrive beginning at 8:30 p.m. No concessions will be available, and guests are encouraged to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Face masks are required inside all public buildings.
Admission is free, but donations are encouraged to continue the programs. Visit garfieldparkindy.org/product/giving-to-garfield/ and specify that your gift is for the Arts Center.
