Art vs. Art Paint Day Registration Open

INDIANAPOLIS  – Art vs. Art Paint Day will be held at the Garfield Park Arts Center, 2432 Conservatory Dr. on September 7 at 10 a.m.-4 p.m.  In preparation for the Art vs. Art main event on September 27, artists will be creating a masterpiece in a four hour time period utilizing identical equipment supplied by Prizm: a canvas, brushes, and acrylic paint.
Artist registration for the event is now open (www.primarycolours.org), artists can register early and save $5 or pay $20 the day of Paint Day. The public is invited to participate in the festivities by cheering on the artists as they paint and enjoying the Sun King beer available for purchase.
The completed works of art will compete for the $4,000 prize awarded at the end of the Art vs. Art main event at the Vogue Theater in Broad Ripple. Between September 13th and September 26th, the public is invited to vote for their top three works located on the Art vs. Art Web site (artvsart.net) to determine the works of art that will make it to the main event. On the night of Art vs. Art, audience votes will decide which paintings will survive and which will face the wheel of death and be destroyed unless purchased at the on-the-spot auction taking place the last minute before destruction. The final remaining painting will be named the 2013 winner of Art vs. Art for all of the glory and the cash prize.
