Our very own Peter Kuhns, gardener and correspondent for the Weekly View, won the top prize at Techpoint’s Entrepreneur Bootcamp, presented by Ice Miller. His start-up company, Beefsteak Software, was awarded first place for Garden Bilder, which is a garden-designing tool for Apple devices. This competition for start-up companies took place on Friday, July 26 in Fishers.
The Garden Bilder app helps urban gardeners plan and visualize their gardens by designing their beds and choosing from a database of over 1,400 varieties of vegetables, fruits and herbs. Exciting new features and options will be available with the next version of Garden Bilder, currently under development.
In June, Garden Bilder also won the People’s Choice Award at the 59 Days of Code software competition in Fresno, California.
Garden Bilder for the iPhone can be downloaded now for free from the Apple Store.
