City-County Workers Get On-Site Clinic

INDIANAPOLIS – Employees of the City of Indianapolis and Marion County enrolled in a medical plan with ADVANTAGE  Health Solutions Inc. SM (Advantage) now have a central location to have their medical and wellness needs met.
The Franciscan St. Francis Health Clinic, located on the 12th floor of the Indianapolis City-County Building, provides services to workers with minor aches, injuries and infections delivered by an on-site nurse practitioner and medical assistant with physician oversight.
Also at that location is the ADVANTAGE Wellness Center, where a wellness coordinator provides health risk assessments, cholesterol and glucose screenings, weight management and other related programs.
The facility is open 8 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The wellness center can be reached at 317-327-5018.


Greene Park Slated for Makeover

INDIANAPOLIS — Some exciting things are in store for Greene Park, at 16th & Franklin Road. Funding for improvements is available for Phase I, which includes a new spray ground with sprinklers, a shade structure, expanded and repaired playground, a reconfigured parking lot with more spaces, and much more. Installation will begin in Fall of 2013, with expected completion by summer 2014.
As funding becomes available, more improvements will be put in place, including a shelter, new seating benches at the Ryan White Memorial, and a new entry sign.
The Jake Greene Park is a 12 acre park that was opened in 1971. The Ryan White Memorial was erected in 1990 and 120 “ Trees for Tomorrow” were planted around the memorial. A walking path and four new tennis courts were added in 2008-2009.


Cultural Trail Celebration May 11

INDIANAPOLIS — The East 10th St. Civic Association will be partnering with the Indianapolis Cultural Trail for the May 11 Get Down On It celebration and parade. Hancock Regional Hospital Hosts Book Fair

GREENFIELD — The Hancock Regional Hospital Guild will host the Books Are Fun book fair from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on May 7 and May 8 at the hospital’s lower lobby. The hospital is at 801 N. State St. in Greenfield. All proceeds are used to benefit Hancock Regional Hospital.
