INDIANAPOLIS — Local artist Jessie Featherstone has spent a lifetime drawing and painting — and in March she will exhibit her latest works at the Stutz Art Gallery. At the age of 75, Featherstone has five decades of experience honing her skills and transitioning from drawing to painting to other creative media. She’s a well-known artist who also shares her passion for art by teaching adult and children with special needs at Oasis. Her work ranges from intimate water color portraits to brilliantly colored clay pieces. Her creativity, originality and courage to explore new techniques elevate her artistic sensibilities, developing a brave new style. Featherstone’s latest creations will be celebrated with an opening reception on Mar. 3, 5-9 p.m. The opening reception is a part of the IDADA First Friday Art Tour. The work will remain in the gallery through March.
