• There will be a meeting for Little Flower neighbors on Jan. 17 from 7-8 p.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 4720 E. 13th St. Get neighborhood updates, plus special guests Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center. Ashlee Weaver, Neighborhood Development Specialist with INRC, will be there to talk about Neighbor Power!, a free citywide event coming up on March 4. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria of the school.
• Windsor Park neighbors are invited to find out more about their neighbors, Ruckus Makerspace, on Jan. 18 from 6:30-8:00 p.m at the space, 1125 E. Brookside Ave., G-10. The meeting will also be an opportunity to meet with the director of the Duvall Residential Center on Ludlow Ave., and chat with the neighborhood’s Mayor’s Advocate, Ashley Miller.
• Irvington Green Initiative is back, but in a different form. There will be four seasonal gatherings to get together and learn about sustainability in the neighborhood. All are welcome to attent the next meeting on Jan. 28 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Bittersweet, 5543 E. Washington St. to talk about recycling and composting in the community. • The IPS Board recently welcomed new commission members, including Venita Moore, who was elected to the District 2 seat. Ms. Moore is a graduate of Arlington High School and is a partner in a business consulting firm. Also new to the board is Elizabeth Gore, who eastsiders may know from leading the PTA at Tech High School. Dorene Rodriguez Hoops will serve District 5 and is a Center for Inquiry School 27 parent and advocate for special education services.
• On Jan. 14from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., the IU Student Outreach Clinic, 3102 E. 10th St., will be offering women’s health services, including pelvic and breast exams, pap smears, and more. An OB/GYN will be present to provide medical services. Call 317-225-1881 for more information.
