From The Indianapolis News, Saturday, August 5, 1916: A. K. Jones, who has been doing special campaign work for the Indianapolis Y.M.C.A., is going to the Mexican border next week where he will represent the “Y” with the Indiana troops camped at Llano Grande, Texas. He carries a personal message to the troops from Gov. Ralston. A new frame Y.M.C.A. building, that will seat 500 men, has been completed at the Indiana camp. It is planned to show motion pictures for the soldiers, and tables are available for reading and writing. Free writing material will be provided the soldiers, however the “Y” is badly in need of magazines and other reading material and phonograph records and sheet music of popular songs. Those who have such items to spare are asked to send them to the Y. M. C. A., Llano Grande.
