IRVINGTON —Thanks to the hard work of Friends of Ellenberger Park, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and the Irvington Garden Club, 100 trees were planted in Ellenberger Park on April 2. The Club also planted two planters at the edges of the park.
Native species, including Pecan, Kentucky Coffee Trees, Redbud, Quaking Aspens, and many more were planted before the winds got too bad in the park. About 60 young people from throughout the city volunteered to help beautify Ellenberger Park.
The historic 42-acre park at 5301 E. St. Clair St., is home to a wide variety of trees native to Indiana.
