INDIANAPOLIS — On April 7, the British-born historian of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Donald Davidson, will share his perspectives on the history and impact of the famous track, a National Historic Landmark, on the approach of the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500. In his engaging and entertaining style, he’ll chat from the stage in the Grand Hall at Indiana Landmarks Center, 1201 Central Ave., on April 7 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Known for his radio program, The Talk of Gasoline Alley, Davidson will talk about the history of the Speedway, built in 1909, and the changes in the track over time before the 500’s centennial. Following his stories about the Speedway, he’ll answer questions from the audience — and his reputation suggests there isn’t a query he can’t answer.
Tickets are $10 per person or $8 for Indiana Landmarks members. Refreshments and a cash bar will be available. Tickets are available online at davidson100thtalk.eventbrite.com or call 317-639-4534.
