NEW PALESTINE — The Hancock County Children’s Choir (HCCC) has been selected as one of 52 winners from across the country in the seventh annual Tom’s of Maine “50 States for Good” community giving program. HCCC will receive $20,000 to support their comprehensive vocal education programming that opens doors of opportunity for students aged 5-18 in Hancock and other outlying counties.
The generous grant from Tom’s of Maine will help the Hancock County Children’s Choir achieve their mission of providing the highest quality vocal training possible, not only through musical directors, but also by exposing students to other gifted clinicians through workshops and performance opportunities. The funding will also assist in providing etiquette training for every student. Etiquette training helps our students to become poised and confident in both performance and social situations: skills that will serve as lifelong assets for them. Further, the funding will help fund a travel piano so the group can perform at the Indiana State Capitol and local museums.
