LAWRENCE — The Fort Ben Cultural Campus in Lawrence recently added new outdoor musical instruments — tuned drums — next to the Musical Swings at 8950 Otis Ave. near 56th and Post Rd.
The additions were made thanks to a generous contribution by the Kleinmaler Family Fund. They add a fun, creative and interactive element to the campus for residents to enjoy.
Everyone is welcome on the campus to use the equipment, as well as appreciate the Marching Sidewalk, an interactive experience with sensors that activate military cadences similar to those heard at Fort Harrison when it was an active military base.
