INDIANAPOLIS — Daytime lane restrictions will be enforced on West St. downtown, as resurfacing work enters its final phase in downtown Indianapolis.
Starting mid-week, lane closures will occur at intersections from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., between 11th and Morris streets to allow crews to safely install traffic signal loops and crosswalk pavement markings. The majority of restrictions will be removed as work is completed but may remain in place as needed for driver safety.
Following intersection work, crews will install mainline pavement markings, which will result in additional daytime lane closures on West Street. Construction is anticipated to be complete by the end of September, depending on weather and other factors.
Travel delays are expected, especially during the morning and evening rush. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes when possible. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
