INDIANAPOLIS — The Harrison Center will host its annual artist-designed Winter Window Walk, which will take place for the tenth consecutive year, from Dec. 6 through Feb, 28, 2025. This year, they are introducing art and literature to the Window Walk with the theme BookTok. Local artists created three-dimensional displays in the center’s street-level basement windows, recreating the nostalgic feeling of reading their favorite literature.
This annual contest consists of a juried panel and public voting that will take place during First Friday on Dec. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to the artists who place 1st ($500), 2nd ($250), 3rd ($100), and Popular Vote ($100).
In 2015, under the direction of Harrison Center Artist-in-Residence Stefan Eicher, artists began transforming the Harrison Center’s windows during the month of December into imaginative displays. Past spectacles have dazzled and included a working miniature Ferris wheel and a display that created a warm and snuggly home for live kittens to spur community adoption.
The Harrison Center’s Winter Window Walk begins in the courtyard and will be held, rain or shine, seven days a week starting at dusk at 1505 N. Delaware St. The Winter Window Walk is a free, self-guided experience visitors can enjoy from dusk to dawn through Feb. 28, 2025. For more information, visit www.harrisoncenter.org.
