From The Indianapolis Star, Sunday, April 6, 1924: The recent organization of the National Screen Players, Inc is expected to bring Indianapolis into the national field of motion picture production. An experimental two-reel comedy was produced recently at the temporary studios, 19 E. Wilkins St, and its acceptance by an Eastern distributor has led to a contract for producing twenty-one other comedies and two feature films within the year. A public motion picture exposition celebrating the selection of Indianapolis as the center of this new picture making industry has been arranged at the state fair grounds for the week of April 21 where several nationally known motion picture stars are expected to appear in person. Plans are being made for organizing an Indianapolis Screen Club, from the membership of which many of the actors in the films will be recruited.
