INDIANAPOLIS — Updates on the I-69 Finish Line reveal that rivers can expect as the nation’s newest interstate project is on track to officially open by the end of 2024.
Construction northward began in Martinsville in 2019, with substantial completion of pavement up to Southport Rd. on the south side of Marion County. In 2024, crews will continue working alog the entire 26 mile corridor, with activity concentrated on the future I-69 to I-465 interchange on the southwest side, I-69 mainline paving north of Southport, westbound traffic lanes on I-465 between I-65 and I-70, and reconstruction of the I-465 WB bridges over the White River.
In addition, I-465 traffic was shifted to new eastbound pavement and new eastbound bridges were built over Harding St. and the White River.
