INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD Officer Khyree Jones is the most recent recipient of the Hoosier Lottery Community Impact Award.
Officer Jones was nominated by the Pacers organization for his work with the IMPD CARES (Children Accepting Responsibility for their Education and Success) mentor program. He is a six-year veteran of IMPD and has served as an IMPD CARES coordinator for 3 years.
IMPD CARES is an IMPD mentoring program designed to encourage positive thinking, promote higher education, establish an appreciation for diversity, and reinforce good citizenship in youth from 12-18 years of age (grades 7-12). The program currently services 150 students who attend the following IPS schools: Arsenal Technical High School, Arlington Middle School, Northwest Middle School & James Whitcomb Riley Middle School. The Hoosier Lottery Community Impact Award serves as one of the premier community outreach programs of the Indiana Pacers and honors individual throughout the State of Indiana who have made a positive difference for and/or left a positive impact on others in either their community or throughout the state of Indiana.
Officer Jones was honored during halftime at the Indiana Pacers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game on Friday, Nov. 3.
