2nd Annual Irvington Pride Festival June 24

IRVINGTON — The second annual Irvington Pride will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (and after). Over 22 participating businesses will offer activities, special deals, and more for a day of inclusive fun. Irvington is the proud home to ten LGBTQ+ owned businesses. The event is sponsored by the Irvington Business Association and Indy Pride. Organizers anticipate 2,500 to 3,000 attendees will enjoy the day’s festivities.
The day will kick off with a pet parade at 11 a.m. down the Pennsy. Meet at Corner of Audubon & Bonna around 10:45 a.m. for a walk to Ritter.
The day will be filled with music at the garden beside the Med Restaurant, 5610 East Washington beginning at noon and ending around 5 p.m. Check the schedule for the line-up, which closes with the local musicians Mortville Flea Market from 3-5 p.m. Want more music? Stroll down to the South Irving Circle, 300 S. Audubon at 5:45 p.m. for a Black Hat Witches performance, followed by Kara Cole, and at 7 p.m. the Irving Circle Concert kick-off with The Scofflaws.
More music will be had at  Irvington Vinyl & Books and Stage Door Theater, 202 S. Audubon Rd. on the Mainstage from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. with live bands, singers, spoken word, and theater performances. From 4-7 p.m. there will be a drag show featuring Kalinda, Phyllis Dong, Diva De Paris, your current Mr Gay Indiana, Aijaye Finesse, and Stacia Renee Onassis.
If it’s food you’re after, you’ll find great choices at several locations, including a sneak peek at Smash’D Burger Bar, 10 Johnson Ave. in a pop-up Beer Garden from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Chicago Beef & Dog’s brand new Food Truck with hot dogs, sandwiches, and burgers will also be on Johnson Avenue, behind Hampton Designs Studio & Shop. Hazeables at 5545 E. Washington St. will offer a rainbow cupcake and small coffee for only $5, plus Pride cakes and specialty breads from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Landlocked, 128 S. Audubon Rd., will open from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. offering baked goods, iced lattes, while the Strange Bird right next door will open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and offer canned beer and cocktails and more. There will be a spot to sit in the parking lot, plus you’ll find restrooms there.
Hampton Designs Studio & Shop, 5515 E. Washington St. will be the place to be with Tarot Readings and Rainbow Chakra Balances with Otherworld Artisans from noon to 5 p.m., mocktails from 11 a.m-5 p.m., pop up drag performances with Brentlee Bich throughout the day. 10% of total sales will be donated to Trinity Haven.
At Market Vintage, 9 Johnson Ave., check out the pop-up market from noon-5 p.m. outside. The Bell Flower Clinic will set up for HIV/STD testing from noon-3 p.m. on the Lower Level of the shop.
At Playground Productions Studio and Frontdoor Home Design, 5529 Bonna Ave, there will be a vendor pop-up from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. of more than 40 makers & creatives. Stick around for the drum and dance circle at 4 p.m. and DJ, performances by Cirque Indy, Transylvania Lip Treatment and belly dancers throughout the day.
At Evolve Salon, 211 S. Ritter Ave., They are holding a donation Drive for Damien Center Food Pantry. Stop by there before Pride to get your hair & nails looking fierce before our big event!
The Snug Irvington, 210 South Audubon- 11 a.m.-4p.m. Irvington’s own neighborhood Irish Pub coming soon to IRV. Sample lemonade at their classic lemonade stand & meet The Snug’s team.
If you are looking for retail deals, Black Sheep Gifts, 5626 E. Washington St. is the place for cool, funky stuff. They’re offering free popsicles from 1-3 p.m. Josephine’s in Irvington, 5620 E. Washington St., has beautiful quality clothing. 15% percent of total sales at Black Sheep and at Josephine’s will be donated to Trinity Haven.
Bazaar Oh! Vintage, down a block at 5844 E. Washington St. will have a pop-up market with 10 vendors.
The newest shop in Irvington is Trapdoor Tattoos, 5535 E. Washington St. Drop by to say hello and grab a temporary tattoo for the kids.
Deb Kent Gallery of Homes/Compass, 206 S. Audubon will offer a chance to paint Irvington Pride rocks from 1-3 p.m. which can be hidden in the neighborhood. While you’re there, visit Great Day Tattoo from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. for face painting or flash Pride tattoos. Also, get a preview of the soon-to-be Irish pub The Snug from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at their lemonade stand at 210 S. Audubon.
The Urban Houseplant Collective, 5505 E. Washington St. will be open from noon-4 p.m. for a Pride Pot Painting Party.
