2023 Indy Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnerships Announced

INDIANAPOLIS — Twelve projects have been selected for funding through the 2023 Indianapolis Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnership (INIP), a program of the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (Indy DPW).
The projects chosen for 2023 total nearly $4 million in investment in Indianapolis neighborhoods, with more than $1.8 million coming from Indy DPW funds. Through the Indy Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnership, Indy DPW is able to double the effective value of tax dollars, increase the number of neighborhood and community-based projects and jump-start development that would not otherwise be possible.
The 2023 Indy Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnership Projects include:
• Englewood Community Development Corporation: Asphalt paving and sidewalk rehabilitation will improve the area around five ongoing multi-family developments underway on the near east side that will provide 177 units of affordable housing.
• Health & Hospital Corporation: Two sidewalk projects at the expanding Health & Hospital Corporation campus near Rural and 38th streets. New sidewalks will be completed on 39th Street between Keystone Avenue and Meadows Drive and on Rural Street between 38th and 39th streets to help with safe connectivity for patients, residents and HHC employees.
• IndyGo Foundation: 76 bus stops on the near eastside will receive improvements that will bring them into ADA compliance.
• Park Fletcher Ground Maintenance Fund: Road repairs will bring new life to Southern Avenue and Fortune Circle East, not far from Indianapolis International Airport on the southwest side.
• Town of Homecroft: Madison Drive will be resurfaced and repaired at Loretta Drive, making the area more accessible for residents.
• Town of Meridian Hills: A new sidewalk will be installed on 75th Street between Meridian and Pennsylvania streets, helping the town make good on its commitment to increasing mobility and connectivity for the community.
