INDIANAPOLIS — The popular Eskenazi Health Farmer’s Market returned on May 16, offering everyone a wide variety of local produce, fresh baked goods and other market items for sale.
Every Tuesday from May 16 to Sept. 12, from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., The Matthew R. Gutwein Commonground in front of the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital will host various local vendors. In addition to the offerings provided by the Farmers’ Market, lunch-goers and shoppers may also visit the Eskenazi Health Fresh for You Market located next to the market in the Frank & Katrina Basile Pavilion.
Items sold at the Eskenazi Health Farmers’ Market are grown or made within 150 miles of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus and within the state of Indiana. This is an intentional initiative to help support the local economy.
Along with the vendors, the Marianne Tobias Music Program at Eskenazi Health will showcase live concert music featuring local artists for the community to enjoy periodically throughout the summer.
The Fresh for You Market is a grocery and pantry hybrid serving as a self-sustaining model to address food insecurity by offering grocery items, fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy snacks and pantry staples. Hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday, with lunch served from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
