INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD leadership has announced changes to the department’s recruitment process and training academy schedule. The IMPD recruit application will now reopen every four months in order in order to expedite the application process and increase number of recruits.
This modification means that three recruit classes will start in the IMPD Academy this year and construction on the brand-new classrooms is expected to be done in July.
Construction is also underway outside IMPD’s training academy, at a new scenario-based village which will be known as “Hershville.” The scenario-based village is set to completed by summer 2023.
