Applause!: April 14-20

• Arsenal Tech High School will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Friday, April 21 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 22 at 2 and 7 p.m. in Anderson Hall on the Tech campus, 1500 E. Michigan St. (parking off Oriental). Tickets are $10 for adults, and $8 for students. Get tickets online at our.show/athscinderella. The auditorium is wheelchair accessible. The students in the Visual and Performing Arts department work hard to put on a great show!
• Tickets to Beastside Brewfest on Saturday, April 29 from 7-10:30 p.m. are going fast! The fundraiser for the Irvington Community Council takes place six months before the Halloween Festival and features several local breweries and cideries. Admission includes unlimited samples and a commemorative 16 oz. pint to purchase additional pints for only $5. There will be entertainment by Dream Slice and food trucks. The fest will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes, located at the corner of Downey and East Washington streets. Tickets online are $30 in advance, or $35 per person at the door. Proceeds will go to pay for improvements to the playground at Our Lady of Lourdes and also those experiencing homelessness through the organization The Pour House. The event is 21 and older only, including designated drivers.
• Francesca Zappia, an award-winning author of young adult books, will be at Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair, on Tuesday, April 18 from 6-7 p.m. for a talk and Q & A session. Books will be available for purchase at the event. Register online at indypl.org/calendar.
• If you are 62 and older, low income, and own your home in the 465 loop area, and are having a difficult time getting vital repairs or have been cited by the city for tall weeds, you might be eligible for help from Neighbor Link Indianapolis. Also, if your company is looking for volunteer opportunities, Neighbor Link is always looking for hands to help. • The Irvington Community Council will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 18 at 7 p.m. at Irvington Presbyterian Church, 55 S. Johnson. If you live in Irvington or have a business in the historic neighborhood, you are very welcome to attend.
• Cumberland Farmer’s Market begins Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m.-noon at the Cumberland Town Hall, 11501 E. Washington St. This is a lively market that features lots of fresh produce from local vendors.
