INDIANAPOLIS – The classic country sounds of Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette and more soar this summer at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre with Honky Tonk Angels, now on stage.
When three gutsy gals from different backgrounds take charge of their lives, they decide to follow their honky tonk dreams to the city of Nashville. Angela Bodine, played by Bridgette Ludlow, is a larger-than-life housewife from Texas with a beer drinking, truck driving husband named Bubba. Darlene Purvis, played by Shelbi Berry, decides to leave her Mississippi life of poverty to follow her dream. And Sue Ellen Smith Barney Fife, played by Kaylee Verble, is a secretary in Los Angeles who sings about quitting her job and leaving her no-boundaries boss behind, all while singing the Dolly Parton classic, “9 To 5.”
After they meet and board their bus, they join forces and decide to form a new singing group: The Honky Tonk Angels!
Honky Tonk Angels is on stage for 37 performances through Aug. 14 in the intimate space of Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre. Tickets range from $51 to $76 and include Chef Larry Stoops’ dinner buffet and select beverages.
