• U.S. 40 (Washington St.) will be closed from Muessing to Carroll roads on Dec. 4 for Cumberland’s Weihnachtsmarkt from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. The beloved tradition is now back with reindeer games for the kids, an artisan vendor tent, real reindeer and elves, great food and drink truck options, a tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., and a light parade at 5:45 p.m. Enjoy live music and much more all day and into the night!
• Garfield Park will host Holidays at Garfield on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Family Center, 2345 Pagoda Dr. Visit the Conservatory to visit Santa and stop by the Arts Center for holiday-themed arts andcrafts, live music, and more. Visit the Family Center for a snowball fight or test your skills at candy cane ice hockey. Admission is free.

• Tickets to Indiana Repertory Theater’s classic A Christmas Carol are on sale now. There is a special vaccination-only performance on Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. and a sensory friendly performance on Dec. 26 at 1 p.m. All IRT patrons for A Christmas Carol 12 and older must show a photo ID and proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR test administered no more than 72 hours before the show, in addition to wearing a mask inside and during the performance. • As of November 28, Indiana has seen an increase in COVID-19 new cases. The total of positive cases in Indiana is nearly 1.1 million, and a total death rate of nearly 17,000 people. The fastest growing demographic for new cases is younger people 20-29. Hospitalizations are also on the rise. Vaccination for the virus is very effective in keeping people from serious illness and hospitalization. Vaccinations are free and available for children and adults. If you are already vaccinated, please get your booster! If you aren’t, contact your local health care provider or go to Kroger, Walmart, Walgreen or CVS stores that are giving away the vaccines. • Broad Ripple Lights Up Festival and Parade will be held Sunday, Dec. 5 from 3-6 p.m. at 6340 Guilford Ave. There will be a Wonderland Village at the Bungalow, and a twilight parade down Broad Ripple Ave. and Westfield Blvd. at 5:30 p.m. The village holiday tree is on the corner of College and Broad Ripple Ave.
• Swing by the Handpicked Market at the Irvington Lodge, 5515 E. Washington St., from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. for handmade gifts from local artisans. There will be preview night Friday, Dec. 3 from 6-9 during the Irvington Open House.
