INDIANAPOLIS — Heartland Film, Inc., the nonprofit organizer of the Heartland International Film Festival (HIFF), is celebrating its 30th anniversary edition, October 7-17, across Indianapolis with a raft of in-person screenings and virtual showings.
The 30th Heartland International Film Festival will feature more than 125 films in a hybrid format, offering both in-person screenings across Indianapolis venues Living Room Theaters, Kan-Kan Cinema and Brasserie, Newfields, Indianapolis Art Center, in addition to the Historic Artcraft Theatre in Franklin, Ind., and select virtual titles via the Eventive virtual festival platform.
Julia is the 30th HIFF Opening Night Event title. The Humans is the 30th HIFF Centerpiece title. The Electrical Life of Louis Wain is the 30th HIFF Closing Night Event title. Other notable films that will be featured at the festival include Spencer, Voodoo Macbeth, Belfast, The Power of the Dog, and Escape From Pretoria.
Several notable documentaries will be featured along with narrative selections, including Mayor Pete, Becoming Cousteau, 100 Years From Mississippi, and Zero Gravity.
In addition to new films, Heartland Film Festival will show a Jimmy Stewart retrospective with Harvey and Rope. To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the film, HFF will showcase West Side Story on the big screen Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Historic Artcraft Theater in Franklin, Indiana.
