INDIANAPOLIS — Mayor Joe Hogsett recently announced two major appointments to his cabinet. Taylor Schaffer was appointed Chief Deputy Mayor and serve as Mayor Hogsett’s chief of staff. Schaffer was the deputy chief of staff, and previously served as communications director for the mayor’s office.
Judith Thomas has been appointed Deputy Mayor of Neighborhood Engagement. Thomas runs Judith & Co., a consulting firm focused on arts, culture and tourism, and is a community scholar of Africana studies at IUPUI. She previously served as president of the Madam Walker Legacy Center. Her first day will be Jan. 18. Thomas succeeds Dr. David Hampton, who served as Deputy Mayor since the beginning of the Hogsett Administration.
