The Tennessee Titans came to Lucas Oil last Sunday to deliver some payback to the Colts for humiliating them two weeks ago on their home ground. It didn’t help the Colts’ cause that five of their starters, including DeForest Buckner and Ryan Kelly, were unavailable. The Horseshoe was able to stay with the Titans for the first quarter, then Anthony Castonzo was injured and Titans’ full back Derrick Henry shifted into high gear. With two lineman and their feature back Jonathan Taylor out, the Colts just were unable to move on the Titans.
Henry rushed for three touchdowns. A.J. Brown returned a Colt on-side kick attempt for a touchdown so it just wasn’t the Colts’ day. T.Y. Hilton did catch his first touchdown pass of the season. The final score was 45-26 and the Tennessee Titans are in sole possession of first place in the AFC South at 8-3. The Colts fall to 7-4. Next week the Colts are at Houston. The Texans are at 4-7 and the Colts are favored but anything can happen.
Rigoberto Sanchez will have to undergo surgery to have a cancerous tumor removed. The 26-year-old is in his fourth full season with the Colts. Sanchez attended the University of Hawaii and was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2017.
Penix Out
IU Hoosier quarterback Michael Penix Jr. suffered a season-ending torn ACL in the win against Maryland last Saturday. Penix, a sophomore, had passed for 1,645 yards with 14 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He has two rushing touchdowns.
The Hoosiers next play Wisconsin. Jack Tuttle, a transfer from Utah will start under center.
