INDIANAPOLIS — The Harrison Center will have new shows opening Friday, September 4th at 6 p.m. for social distance viewing — don’t forget to bring your mask (masks required). In the Harrison Gallery, Kristin Divers will present, “Hot Metal.” The show was inspired by a gift from her husband – steel toe boots! In Speck Gallery explore Abi Ogle’s newest installation, “Natural Disaster.” In the City Gallery, Josh Rush will present a new collection of oil paintings inspired by local scenes. All art will be available to purchase in person during the First Friday event and available for purchase in the online store beginning Monday, September 7th.
Circle City Industrial Complex, located at 1125 Brookside Ave., will host a variety of artists as part of the September First Friday art tour, on Friday, September 4th. This will be a continuation of the “Indoor-Outdoor” First Friday, to allow for safety measures and social distancing requirements. Admission and parking are free, general programming starts at 5:30pm, although times may vary in individual spaces. Outdoor activities will wrap at 8:30 p.m./sunset, and indoor activities will wrap at 9 p.m. Artists will also be using the parking lot fence along the Pogue’s Run Trail as an outdoor gallery space, giving artists with smaller studios a chance to receive visitors in the open air. Larger gallery and studio spaces, as well as other businesses, will be open throughout the building, and Centerpoint Brewing and 8th Day Distillery will have outdoor accommodations in their areas.
