Registration and Absentee Voting in Indiana

To vote by mail, you must request an absentee ballot from the county of residence by Oct. 22, 2020 for the November election. To request an application, call 317-232-3939. You may fill out an application online by going to indianavoters.com and logging into the “My Voter Portal Page” by entering the request exactly as it appears on your voter registration card.
In Indiana, you must give a reason for voting by absentee ballot. Reasons for voting absentee include being over 65, disabled, scheduled to work the day of the election, and several other reasons. A voter must be able to personally mark their own ballot and sign their name to the completed ballot security envelope.
If your application is approved, you will receive a general election ballot. Currently, the first ballots will not be mailed out until mid-September. The ballot must be returned to the county election office no later than noon on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3. Ballots not received before noon, even if postmarked in time, will not be counted.
