CUMBERLAND — Community Outreach Ministry Eastside (COME) needs help to provide food and assistance to a higher number of people due to the impact of COVID-19. A drive-thru “Food & Fund Drive” is set for Saturday, Aug, 1, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Cumberland First Baptist Church, 116 S. Muessing St., Cumberland. Cars will be directed to drive up to a collection point. There will be no contact as people drop off food or a financial donation in the form of cash, check, or gift card. All donation amounts are appreciated.
One in seven people in the community is hungry. COME needs your help to fill the food gap. Items that are especially needed are pasta, spaghetti sauce, soups, cereal, pancake mix and syrup, peanut butter and jelly, canned meats, tuna, vegetables, fruits, Hamburger and Tuna Helper, powdered milk (small size), baby diapers and wipes. Please do not bring outdated food as it cannot be distributed by COME.
Nine area churches support the COME ministry for people in Warren, Buck Creek and Sugar Townships. Connect with COME through Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/COMEFoodPantry/ or call 317-891-5179.
