IRVINGTON — For over fifty years, the Irvington Historical Society has hosted an annual Irvington Ice Cream Social. In the past, the Social featured great food, live music and old timey summer social fun. The 2020 event, to be held Saturday, Aug. 1, will be very different. The “social” aspect just can’t be done this year. The event will be held from 1-4 p.m. at the Bona Thompson Memorial Center. 5350 University Ave. in Irvington.
The Irvington Ice Cream Socially — Distanced event will feature Sundae’s four yummy flavors of premium ice cream: Raspberry Sorbet (dairy free), Fudgie Brownie, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Vanilla. They will be portioned in single servings for takeout. You can order on-line now or purchase on site beginning Aug. 1. You can pick up inside the Bona or drive up at the lower entry door. The only thing that cannot be accommodated is eating together. Come support the Irvington Historical Society’s Ice Cream Social —Distancing edition.
Single servings are $4 each. A flight (one serving of each of the 4 flavors) is just $15. Online ordering is now available and will continue until the ice cream is gone. Order online at https://tinyurl.com/Irv-IceCream
When you come to the building, remember to visit the museum exhibits and purchase ice cream for later. All proceeds go to help with maintenance of the historic building, exhibits, and the Irvington Historical Society’s efforts to preserve the history of Irvington.
