Indy Public Safety Citizens Academy Seeks Applicants

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Public Safety Foundation has announced that applications are now being accepted for the 12th class of the Public Safety Citizens Academy (PSCA). The PSCA is a free, 12-week course designed to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the work our city’s first responders do each day to keep Indianapolis a safe place to live, work, play and visit. Participants will engage with and learn from our city’s first responders, including Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) and Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) and more. IPSF and partners position the PSCA as a way citizens can engage with first responders, learn more about how they serve our city and collaboratively create solutions to address public safety issues our community faces.
The PSCA will run every Thursday from April 2 through June 18, with classes being held at various public safety facilities throughout the city from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Participants will spend extensive time with police, fire and EMS experts learning about the operations of Indy’s first responder agencies and engaging in discussions about pertinent public safety issues we face as a community.
Limited spots are available and traditionally, PSCA classes fill up within a matter of days. To participate in this free, impactful program, please visit IPSF’s website at www.indypsf.org to submit your application by Friday, March 20.
