MOUNT VERNON — The Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation has announced that Mr. Jeff Brandes has been named as a Mt. Vernon Middle School Assistant Principal, effective October 21. Prior to this appointment Mr. Brandes served as the Director for Christel House Schools in Indianapolis. Before that position, he has 10 years experience as the Associate and Assistant Principal with Anderson and Marion Community Schools. Mr. Brandes was part of the team that led Marion High School’s state grade to rise from an “F” to a “B.” He began his education career in 1996 as a Physical Education and Health Teacher. Mr. Brandes graduated from Mt. Vernon Schools.
Brandes has served as a coach throughout his career, most recently as the Varsity Assistant Tennis Coach at Mt. Vernon in 2018 and 2019. He also served as the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Indianapolis Broad Ripple High School for four years.
