IRVINGTON— The dancing witches of Historic Irvington Black Hat Society will put on a family-friendly theatrical witchy fashion show for the charity Ascent 121, a non profit that provides recovery services for central Indiana teen survivors of commercial sexual exploitation. The Black Hat Strut is Sunday, October 6th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Irvington Lodge (5515 E. Washington St.). Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
The Black Hat Strut has the support of local businesses including Irvington’s Lincoln Square, who is providing the event foods, and the Historic Irvington Lodge, where the event will be held. Ticket holders can enjoy refreshments and will have the opportunity to bid on Halloween-themed art, jewelry, and other locally provided delights, and be enchanted by the main event – a witches’ Halloween fashion show with outrageous costumes, witchy makeup, dramatic drumming and fun for all.
Advanced tickets are $20 available at Coal Yard Coffee (5547 Bonna Avenue), Hampton Designs Studio & Shop (5515 E. Washington St.) and eventbrite.com. Tickets are $25 at the door the day of the event. All proceeds will go to the charity. A cash bar with cider from Ash & Elm cidery will be available.
Come and kick off the Halloween season in the spookiest neighborhood in Indy. Irvington will host the Halloween Festival from Oct. 20 thru Oct. 26th (huge Halloween Street Fair the 26th). The Black Hat Society witches will be the grand finale of the parade.
