INDIANAPOLIS — The Muscular Dystrophy Association is bringing strength to life for kids and adults in the Greater Indianapolis community with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases at the 2017 MDA Muscle Walk of MDA of Greater Indianapolis on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The annual MDA Muscle Walk is a meaningful way for families, friends, neighbors and local businesses in the Greater Indianapolis area to come together to raise critical awareness and funds for muscle-debilitating diseases that severely weaken muscle strength and mobility. This year’s walk includes a 3K – 5K route designed for participants of all ages and abilities, including a wheelchair and equipment-friendly course.
The Muscle Walk event is scheduled for noon with registration beginning at 10 a.m. at White River State Park – Celebration Circle. There will be games, crafts, and face painting.
To register, visit https://www.mda.org/muscle-walk or call the local MDA office at 317-824-4800 or 260-46-6698. More than 140 Muscle Walk events are expected to take place throughout the U.S. in 2019. Last year, dedicated participants raised $7.2 million through Muscle Walk for MDA and more than $40 million has been raised since Muscle Walk began in 2011.
Every dollar raised through Muscle Walk benefits MDA’s mission to fund groundbreaking research across diseases and provide individuals with life-enhancing programs and support services. Funds raised also make MDA Summer Camp possible for more than 170 area kids where they can experience the best week of the year at no cost to their families at Camp Bradford Woods.
