Horseshoe Wins Second Game

Traveling to New Era field in Buffalo, the Colts found themselves with several key players finally back in the starting lineup on offense. Make no mistake, the Bills are a team in panic mode but it was wonderful to see the boys in white and blue run on full steam. T.Y. Hilton grabbed four passes, with two for touchdowns. But it was running back Marlon Mack who was the driving force  for the Colts offense. The second year runner gained 126 yards on the ground and scored on a 20 yard run. He also caught a 29 yard touchdown. He had 159 total yards for scrimmage. Luck threw 4 touchdown passes, giving him 20 for the year so far. The Bills scored a safety when the ball was snapped over Luck’s head in a shotgun formation on the 9. The ball rolled out of the endzone.
Defensively, the story was once again Darius Leonard. The rookie linebacker regained the NFL tackle lead. He had 17 total tackles including 12 solo tackles and a recovered fumble. He has 79 tackles for the year. Safety Mike Mitchell joined the team two weeks ago and has found a home as a strong safety. He had 7 tackles. Rookie defensive end Kemoko Turay collected his 3rd sack of the season. He gets better every week. Cornerback Kenny Moore grabbed his 2nd interception of the season.
The downside was a groin injury to Adam Vinatieri. When Adam missed 2 extra points everyone knew something wasn’t right. The team will have to find a fill in kicker for a least a week.
The Oakland Raiders are next. The Raiders are yet another team in turmoil. Head coach Jon Gruden seems to be dismantling them at a record rate. This could be another win for the Horseshoe but never take anything for granted. After that the Colts go into their bye week so it’s a chance to get everyone healthy and ready for the second half of the season.

The Boilers Pummel the Buckeyes
The unranked Purdue Boilermakers hung a serious beatdown on the No. 2 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. This ranks as the upset of the decade — 49-20 was the final score. It could be that the Bucks were a bit overrated but the Boilers had a secret weapon — 20 year old Purdue student Trent Tyler was in the home crowd. Trent is the team’s biggest fan. He is also battling cancer and his courage is an inspiration to the players and coaches. So they went out and won one for Trent Tyler and he was certainly the games MVP!
