INDIANAPOLIS — Film historian Eric Grayson will screen the famous Mae West and W.C. Fields film, My Little Chickadee, on Sat., July 21 at 8 p.m. at Garfield Park Arts Center, 2432 Conservatory Drive. It will, as always, be preceded by a short selected by Grayson.
According to Grayson, both stars were dumped by Paramount for being cantankerous, so Universal picked them up as a team. In this 1940 film, West plays a “no-good woman” who marries Fields, a con artist moving from town to town working various scams. Both stars showcase their own talents without being onscreen together very much because, he adds, they hated one another!
Admission is $5. Concessions are $1. For more information, visit www.gpacarts.org or call 317-327-7135.
